Uploading larger files fails

I'm using thin for all my Rails development (not on
production
servers), and I think I might have found a bug.
When uploading a largish file (7-8 MB), the request just hangs
for
about a minute, and then renders a blank page. If I quit thin,
start
mongrel and reload the page posting exactly the same request, the
file
is uploaded in about 10 seconds without any trouble.
I'm using the attachment_fu plugin for uploads. There is never
written
anything to the Rails log for these halted requests, so I don't
have
any log data to include.
