Connect to unix domain socket
Reported by macournoyer | January 23rd, 2008 @ 09:42 AM
Nginx (and maybe other load balancer) support connecting to backend through unix domain socket. Which is the fastest interprocess communication method. EventMachine also supports connecting to unix domain sockets... Connect the dots :)

Usable like this (Nginx config file):
upstream backend {
server unix:/tmp/thin1;
server unix:/tmp/thin2;
server unix:/tmp/thin3;
}
server {
location / {
proxy_pass http://backend;
}
}
