Make Thin::Connection more "comet friendly"

I have a couple of apps that use comet or long polling.
To do this, I needed to subclass Connection. Unfortunately, Connection#process has a long implementation. This makes code reuse impossible.
I'd like to extract some protected methods so more code reuse is possible.
